We would be working alongside other members of Rotary and the public to build Aqua Boxes which are then shipped to destinations in need of clean water . Disasters such as these seem to be increasing in frequency and severity around the world. They leave behind damaged infrastructure and contaminated water supplies.
 People resort to drinking any water they can find, usually from polluted sources. Those who drink this unsafe water are at increased risk from water-borne diseases such as cholera and typhoid. The elderly and very young are particularly vulnerable, with approximately 2,000 children under 5 years dying every day*.
The AQUABOX project, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Stratford Charitable Foundation, is helping to change that. And you can help too.
AQUABOX is a simple, low-cost filtration system that can provide purified drinking water to a family of five for up to a year. |

Laura serves as the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Culture for the town of Hanover. We will learn more about her role with the town and how Hanover Rotary Club can continue to make a lasting impact in our community through future projects and initiatives within Laura's department.
