There’s much to see here. So, take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about us. We hope you enjoy our site and take a moment to drop us a line. We have a lot going on check it out here.

Joan Hafermehl

Thank you for visiting the Hanover Rotary website. I am Joan Hafermehl and I will be Club President for 2021-2022.

It is my hope that our fundraising and community events will return to some normalcy this year.  We have tried to maintain a presence in the community during the pandemic but social distancing, provincial restrictions and shut downs made events impossible to run safely.

In the fall our TV bingo will resume in October on both Eastlink and Wightman

Cable channels.  November will start our Annual Poinsettia fundraiser and December will hopefully see the Santa Claus Parade return, which will be our first social event.

The Club members look forward to seeing everyone out again participating in our community.

For anyone interested in joining our Rotary Club please send your contact information located on our home page and I will give you call.

Thank you for the shout out, WES For Youth Online. The Hanover Rotary Club is proud to support your organization and the very important services you provide.

Thank you to the Hanover Rotary Club for their generous donation in helping to ensure that WES for Youth Online is able to provide an Accesible Service for all!
Did you know that accessibility is the biggest advantage of virtual counselling?
Accessibility can be thought about in a few different ways. Firstly, in terms of geographic location. Youth from remote and rural communities all across Ontario are able to access WES for Youth Online wherever they live. WES for Youth Online serves communities from Thunder Bay to Toronto, Sarnia to Ottawa, Windsor to James Bay – and everywhere in between.  Accessibility also takes on the form of access to service. All that is required for WES for Youth Online’s service is an internet connection and device through which to communicate. Youth can reach out anytime they feel the need to communicate their thoughts and feelings, can be anywhere they choose when they do so and can discuss anything they wish.
Accessibility can also be explained in terms of physical and practical issues. There is no physical space to navigate, there are no barriers in terms of transportation issues and above all, there is no cost associated for youth with WES for Youth Online. Financial restraints are often an insurmountable barrier for youth and their families, when looking to access mental health services.

Helping The Community

The Rotary Club of Hanover purchased 40 gallons of hand sanitizer and donated them to the Hanover & District Hospital, The Village Retirement Residence in Hanover, Hanover Care Centre, Durham’s South Bruce Grey Health Centre and Rockwood Terrace long-term care facility in Durham. Thank you to our front-line workers and thank you to Hanover Rotarians Joan & Randy Hafermehl for driving to Stratford to pick up the sanitizer and making the deliveries
